15th Annual VW Weekend

The Ozarks will take on a decidedly West Coast feel during the last weekend of August this year. That's when hundreds of VW's,--«Bugs,» vans and otherwise--invade Northwest Arkansas. They'll be here for the 15th Annual Eureka Springs VW Weekend, and the theme this year is «Cal Lookin'.»

The majestic vehicles proudly parade through town beginning at 3 pm Saturday.

5th Annual Bluegrass Festival

The «King of Newgrass,» mandolin prodigy Sam Bush, and legendary picker Marty Stuart will headline the 2007 Bluegrass Festival in Eureka Springs, AR, August 23-26. The festival opens Aug. 23 at 6 pm in Basin Spring Park with a new event, the Watermelon Social. Besides the main shows in the Auditorium, the 5th Annual event includes free music in Basin Spring Park, fiddle, guitar and upright bass workshops, pre-shows featuring a local all-star band, and a Best Bluegrass Band competition.

Kinky Boots at the Lucky 13

SYNOPSIS: Charles Price may have grown up with his father in the family shoe business, but he never thought that he would take his father's place. Yet, the untimely death of his father places him in that position, only to learn that Price & Sons Shoes is failing. While in despair at his failed attempts to save the business, Charles has a chance encounter with the flamboyant drag queen cabaret singer, Lola. Her complaints about the inadequate footwear for her work combined with one of Charles' ex-employees, Lauren, leads to a suggestion to change the product to create a desperate chance to save the business: make men's fetish footwear. Lola is convinced to be their footwear designer and the transition begins. Now this disparate lot must struggle at this unorthodox idea while dealing both the prejudice of the staff, Lola's discomfort in the small town and the selfish manipulation of Charles' greedy fiancée who cannot see the greater good in Charles' dream. Cars & Bullitt Double Feature at the Lucky 13

CARS SYNOPSIS: Lightning McQueen is a cocky, rookie race car. Speeding on his way to a big race, he crashes into Radiator Springs, destroying lots of the inhabitants belongings. In order to make up for what he did, the cocky roadster is sentenced to community service. Though he will do anything to get away from the work, McQueen must learn to respect and bond with the Radiator Springs inhabitants in order to get out of the town and back on the racetracks.

BULLITT SYNOPSIS: Steve McQueen plays the role of a no glitter, all guts cop named Frank Bullitt. He and two other cops are assigned to what seems like a normal case : to watch a witness for 48 hours before he goes to trial on Monday. When the officers and the witness are killed, Chalmers gets angry at Bullitt. After he chases the hit man that killed them, he vows to catch him, and the mafia boss that hired him. (PG-13)

SYNOPSIS: Picking up where the first movie left off, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan are to be married. However this is interrupted when both are arrested for aiding in the notorious Captain Jack Sparrow's escape. The new captain, Beckett, will lift all charges, if Will can hunt down Jack and bring him back to Beckett, along with his magic compass. However, Jack has other problems. Years ago, he made a deal with Davy Jones to raise the Black Pearl. Time is up. His part of the deal was to give Davy Jones his soul. Once Will finds Jack, unaware of the current situation, Jack coaxes Will into boarding Davy Jones's ship, the Flying Dutchman, and retrieve a mysterious key. This key opens the chest that contains Davy Jones's secret. With it, you can control Davy Jones and his fearsome beast, The Kraken. Once Will retrieves said key, Davy Jones is hot on his trail, now hunting down both Jack and Will. It is now, only a matter of time, before something happens. Hopefully the pirates can reach the chest and stop Davy Jones, before he reaches them and sends them all to a watery grave.... (PG-13)
