The Magical Mystery Tour of Cynthia Re Robbins

Cynthia Re Robbins, Photo by John Rankine

Ohio born artist Cynthia Re Robbins journeyed on a long and exciting path before reaching her present destination of Eureka Springs.

As is true of all artists, her experiences are reflected in her work and in Robbin's case they have transcended into mystical and stunning images rendered in oil and pen & ink.

Cynthia has lived and worked in Key West, FL, and in Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, and San Miguel Allende, Mexico.

After living on a sailboat in Saint Croix for 12 years, Robbins moved to Colorado for six years before settling in Eureka Springs in 2001.

Residing in stunningly visual settings has seemingly influenced her sense of esthetics and color that transports one on a journey while viewing her paintings.

Magnetic Springs Spirits by Cynthia Re Robbins Often mystical in mood, Robbin's images rely on fluid controlled movement and a keen knowledge of the principles of design and composition. Fairies and spirits come to life in her work and less ethereal subject matter such as a tiger or flower also contain a magical element.

This year Cynthia won the coveted May Festival of the Arts Poster design contest and was honored with a special spot in the Artrageous parade.

She became a chartered resident of the Artists colony on North Main Street where she spends several hours each week creating and selling her art. Robbins work can also be found in Eureka Thyme Gallery and in Eurekan Art.

As she did last year, Cynthia will spend the month of August teaching painting to an international array of students in Reicheman, Austria. There is still time to enroll in her classes there. If interested contact Cynthia or visit www.Rubinovs-Lightning.

With serious intent, dedication to her art and always seeking beauty, Cynthia Re Robbins still has many more journeys to come. Let's tag along!
