Getting «Hitched» otherwise known as Domesticated in Eureka Springs, AR
Get «hitched» in Eureka Springs during Diversity Weekend
For out-of-towners coming to our annual summer Diversity Weekend (Aug. 3-5), here's a concise countdown to achieving connubial bliss at the same time:
1) Print out the online application for a Domestic Partnership Registry certificate, available here:
City of Eureka Springs, DP Info
2) Before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 3, take the application and your partner-to-be to the Eureka Springs City Hall, 44 S. Main St.
3) Show City Clerk M.J. Sell your ID, give her $35 in cash and sign your names. When she stamps the certificate with the seal of the City of Eureka Springs, you will officially be Domestic Partners.
4) To make the occasion more meaningful--for the two of you and your family and friends--make prior arrangements for a Commitment Ceremony. Ministers at any one of the locations shown below will be happy to oblige.
You can tie the knot while riding in one of our vintage trolly cars, on a floating gazebo, at a Victorian B&B or an historic hotel, in a lush flower garden, at one of the springs for which Eureka Springs is famous or at site of your own choosing.
Simple commitment ceremonies start about $50. If you want a cake, flowers, a ride in a horse-drawn carriage, photographs, dinner for two and a romantic night in a honeymoon cottage with a heart-shaped tub, the tab will fall between $400 to $800. Naturally, if you want a $20,000 blow-out, that can be easily arranged.
5) Finally, plan to attend a Cake n' Cocktails reception honoring Domestic Partners at Henri's Just One More, 19 1/2 Spring St. between 6 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 4. Sponsored by gaynewsbureau.com. No cover. Cash bar. Open to the public.
The following are just a few of the Eureka Springs locations that offer committment ceremonies to domestic partners:
Eureka House
An entire guest house just for the two of you and up to four friends, with private gardens, gourmet kitchen, even a two-car garage.
